About Campbell Agencies

Robert (Bob) E. Campbell is a great study in self-reliance and a serial entrepreneur in every sense of the word.

Except for when he was working for all of us as a Naval Air traffic Controller, he knew he would always find a way to chart his own course. After studying as a business major at Delaware Valley College (now Delaware Valley University), Bob graduated from the Aetna Insurance Institute in New England.

He’s come a long way since starting his business with an empty metal box on his kitchen table. The box was where he stored his index cards containing all the information he had on his prospects.

Campbell Agencies Inc., with its long history of local support and community service, is just one of the fruits of his early efforts.

Professionally, he has been recognized as Insurance Person of the Year for the Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland Association and served as Chairman of the Advisory Boards for two of the insurance companies his agency represents.

The Board of Directors of Bucks County Bank relies on him as a member as they chart their course through an uncertain economy.

He is past president of the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce which awarded him their “Lifetime Achievement in Business Award.”

Doylestown Hospital was able to expand their state of the art health care facility thanks to the 40 million dollars he helped raise as a member of their Board of Directors.

The world of the arts and music have benefited from his involvement as well. He is Chairman of the Board of Amazing Grace Funding a Broadway Musical. www.amazinggracemusical.com.

He helped organize a team to save our national treasures.  Mr. Campbell coproduced the documentary film “America’s First D-Day, Washington Crossing” and the film “Pearl S. Buck, A Life A Legacy.” The proceeds of these efforts will benefit the National Park System and the Pearl S. Buck Foundation.

Mr. Campbell is an avid musician. And in his spare time he flies helicopters and collects cars. Even these recreational pursuits provide ways for him to give back to the community.

He was recognized in national magazines and by the Red Cross for organizing and flying relief missions after a devastating hurricane in South Carolina. Mr. Campbell is also a member of the Chapel of the Four Chaplains, from Temple University.

On the grounds of the Campbell Agencies, he built a museum to house his Antique and Classic Car Collection. All donations from visitors are passed on to the Salvation Army to whom the museum is dedicated.
